Wrapping House

Wrapping House is located on a corner lot in the northeastern residential area of Heyri Art Valley, where the streets curve around the block. The design leaves the corner open to preserve visual openness, while the house itself turns with the flow of the street. This continuous wrapping gesture allows the architecture to follow the curvature of the site, naturally connecting the building with its context. Iroko wood slats begin as a diagonal garden fence and gradually rotate until they align with the large picture-frame window of the living room. This unbroken surface extends from the ground to the roof, smoothly shifting from exterior to interior and creating an organic boundary between the architecture and its surroundings. Though compact at just 166 m², the interior feels much more expansive. Distorted proportions and forced-perspective techniques, reminiscent of an Ames Room, expand the sense of space, offering a perception of openness beyond its modest scale.
